The family of Bruce Lee and China's J.A. Media have agreed on producing a trilogy retracing the life of martial-arts expert Bruce Lee, who's considered one of the most influential martial artists of the 20th century, and a cultural icon. This won't be the first biopic of Bruce Lee (There has already been one biopic indeed: "Dragon The Bruce Lee Story" which was released in 1993). But with this new biopic of Bruce Lee, his family wants to correct widely reported inaccuracies:
"We've read many books and seen many movies about Bruce Lee. But there are many inaccuracies in them."
Robert Lee,
Bruce Lee’s brother
The film will be helmed by Director Wai-Man Yip. Hong Kong-based singer-turned-actor Aarif Lee will play young Bruce Lee. And Karen Mok and Tony Leung Ka-Fai will play Bruce Lee's parents.
Plot:
"First in a three-part biopic about martial arts king Bruce Lee. The films are being made in cooperation with the family of Hong Kong's most famous native son, who died 37 years ago."
The plan is to release the film for the 70th anniversary of the late action hero's birth on November 27, 2010. So it's rather strange to learn that filming of the movie will only start at the end of June... Well, I know that in Hong Kong they don't need as much preparation as in Hollywood to make a movie, but still...
Here's a clip showing the marvelous Bruce Lee:
Anyway, impatient to watch the movie Bruce Lee!
